George Kirk

George Kirk told stories from the moment she could speak (her mum called them fibs) and once she started there was no stopping her.

Her love for story took her through a degree in English Literature and Drama, a Primary PGCE, 20 years of teaching and finally to her favourite place of all, the school library. She now spends her days as a very grown-up, full-time librarian.

On weekends and holidays she transforms into her alter ego, the Maker of Make-Believe! With her trusted sidekick Wylie ukulele, she is a vigilante storyteller: schools, festivals and libraries hold no bounds. They’re usually happy to let her in.

When she’s not telling stories, she’s writing funny middle grade fiction and picture book texts.

She lives in a Lancashire valley, between the City of Manchester and the hills of Pendle.
