Lorraine Carey

Excitable and drawn to danger from a tender age (eg launching self from the top of the stairs aged three, for brother to unfailingly catch at the bottom), Lorraine further pursued her insatiable need for a high stakes lifestyle by becoming an English teacher in London.  The children she teaches inspire her love of children’s literature, her sense of humour and imagination.
In 2016 Lorraine’s debut picture book Cinderella’s Sister and the Big Bad Wolf (Nosy Crow, illustrated by Migy Blanco) was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Award.
The children now ask her if she’s therefore a millionaire.  She’s not.
